Thanksgiving and Christmas traditionas are an intergral part of the American way of life and the Navy recognized this. Under wartime conditions many WAVES, sailors, and station personnel were not afforded the luxury of travelling home for the holidays. At both Thanksgiving and Christmas a traditional American holiday meal was served and immediate family in the area were allowed on base to participate. Other activity, like the Orphan's Christmas Party, was planned as well. Movies would also be shown non-stop all day.

Currently missing is the Christmas 1942 holiday brochure and most of the Thanksgiving years. Please donate a digital copy if you have one of the missing brochures, especially for 1942.
