The Photo Albums section is subdived into four sections based on the natural subdivision by years or Naval activity. Included will be a dedicated section for the WAVES and Women Marines. The first two subdivisions, the WAVES and 1942-1946, respresents the World War II years and will be the most detailed time periods. The subdivision, 1947-1959, represents the post World War II years when the Navy loaned the base to the University of Oklahoma to use as a veteran's college and the ultimate reactivation of the base from 1952 to 1959. The final subdivision represent the post Navy years and ultimate demise of the buildings and other structures. The photos come from a myriad of sources and their sources will be noted as best as can be. If there are no sources quoted the photos come from the website's private collection. A special thanks to the
Moore-Lindsay Historic House Museum located in Norman, Oklahoma for giving access to their collection.
It should be noted that many more photos exist in the other sections of this website especially in the 1945 yearbook, All Hands, and the 1943 brochure, We Keep 'Em Flying. Some duplication of material / photos is necessary as well. The Timeline section for example has several photos included with each subdivision that can be found elsewhere on the website.
