WAVES Arrive!!! The first attachment of WAVES arrived on January 29, 1943 straight from boot camp in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Lieutenant (jg) Myrtle O. Poultney was the Officer in Charge. This detachment of WAVES held the distinction of being the very first to enter the Naval mechanical schools.
